    10cm between Snaps

I was originally going to try another location like Peel or Mcklay islands, doing a solo recon trip to see if I can find any other spots that might yield a fish or two, as last few trips to Mud have been very ordinary. But having a closer look at the wind direction, I figured that a SE will help me get to Mud in a comfortable 30 mins or so from Manly. The long story short, 54 and 64cm snaps decided to play ball, and the biggest caught fish was on one of our home grown jigheads made at the recent M&G, courtesy of Barup If you can see closely enough, the jighead is a little marked and second hand now Peter, do you accept trade-ins??

Good luck tomorrow Neil, conditions look better than they were today, should be an enjoyable day whatever you decide.

The plastic which I forgot to mention is the new Atomic Guzzler 4" prong - but in opening the packet the colour description is gone. .. Not hard to find it, and they obviously work!!

    Hi Darren,

The spots at Mud are no secret, there's usually clusters of boats hanging around the popular grounds, North, NE and NW of Mud. Every time I go there the drift is slightly different depending on the wind and tide.

    Thanks Brandon,

I have been seriously thinking about getting a Lee pot too, except I only have one mold, which means more dollars.. Don't blame you for getting one, they are just superb!! If only we were neighbours, I could just borrow all your molds!!

Scalem Well done good to see a few fish around Did you see any more LT's around that side? I went to Manley today for lunch it looked a bit rough it made a good family day. I might have to get myself a Jig kit like yours

    Steven,

The LTs made an appearance briefly, but by the time I changed on of my lines over to a little slug they were gone again. They seemed very inconsistent with where they were going to turn up next, and I was too lazy to start the motor and try position the boat better. I have to confess, the only LTs I have ever caught were on livies, I think there's a better chance of one jumping into my boat accidentally than me catching one on a slug. One day I might be deckie for someone who knows what they are doing with LTs. I think another jighead making M&G would be a good thing, we had a ball at the last one, and now Nico, Brandon, Barup and many others have all the right gear. Keep an eye out and try make the next M&G. And yes, it was rough for my little tug boat, but nowhere near dangerous. Just had to slow right down.

There a nice pair of bay snaps, especially from mud. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot going on in the bay shallows snapper wise at the moment hopefully its a sign things are changing.

    Cheers Chris

    Well done Brian,

Making your own Jig head and actually catching fish on them must give a a great feeling of satisfaction.

I see your Atomic Guzzler 4" prong seems to work as well as you said it would.
