Anyone Got Experience with the Furuno 667 or 668

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone else on here has had any first hand experience with the Furuno Colour Video Sounder FCV 668. (Depth , speed and temp)

Any tricks and what sort of depths have you used it in and your thoughts on best settings to get the most out of it.

Are you picking thermoclines with yours?

Also have you used the 585 or 620 and if so how do you feel they rate against the 668?

My father had the 668. It was a good unit and he used it offshore out to about 60metres. I think you would have to get one very cheap for you not to go for the latest series. Let's face it we're talking about mid 90's technology. I know they weren't anywhere near as user friendly as the new stuff.

Is your Dad still using one?

Chimo use on auto fish mode in 30meters and under,above 30m turn auto off range 20m,+ & - buttons to adjust bottom on screen as depth changes. gain setting adjust untill clutter appears on screen then back off till screen clears.
I fish 100 plus meters often no problem,my transducer does not read temp or speed,hope this helps
