    Fraser Island camping help?

Going camping/fishing at Fraser Island from the 24Oct-28Oct. I have been to Fraser before but always stayed at Eurong beach resort, or Kingfisher Bay. This will be our first time camping. We are mainly going to fish, and thinking these best area would be around Waddy Point/Indian Head for Tailor.

The Waddy point campgrounds sound interesting due to the fact they have a fire Ring, but we like to have a good time and make some noise and I've been reading they are strict on noise after 9pm at Waddy.

Is there many beach camp sites around waddy? And on the dates I'm going would it be safe to assume there will be some beach sites available? Or would it just be safer to book Waddy campsite and shutup by 9pm?

    Cheers
    Mitch

Mate ocean lake area is not a bad area to camp at its about 5 kms north of waddy also has a toilet at the lake
There are good camps about 100m past ocean lake turn off
just remember no generators at waddy either

I agree Mitch - take the Ocean Lake track off the beach and turn left or right at the top of the dune and you'll find good camping. This gives you good access to Ngkala Rocks and to the Cape. Browns Rocks - approx half way between Ngkala and the Cape has good rock structure in good water and had some quality GTs there last week.
