Am looking at a Haines signature 575f and also a freedom elite 5.9, am looking for some advice on which would be the better buy. The Haines has a 130 Honda 4 stroke the freedom a 140 Johnson 4 stroke…both asking around $35k.
depends what you're after lino. i've owned a signature and now have a freedom 620 elite with a 140 sooz. you can easily pick the difference in the fitout, the signature is a very nicely fitted out boat and the freedom is pretty basic. i don't think that clee has maybe quite worded his response right above (apologies clee if you have), the quality of build is about the same i reckon, but with the freedom you get a whole lot more boat (ie. bigger motor, bigger boat) for the same bucks. it won't have as good a fitout and the hull design/shape won't be quite as good (i reckon that the signature hull is about as good as it gets for a lightweight hull) but the resale value is holding on the freedoms and you can't beat em for "bang for your buck". like anything it's horses for courses though lino, what will your usage be? will the missus and kids be in it with you? do you plan on overnighting in it? have you had a drive of both of these boats to see for yourself (ie. don't rely on old wives tales to influence your decision, take em both for a spin and see for yourself)
