    hey all,

    went for a fish today with my mate shaun and i got 2 really nice tarpon great fight in em.

    and they deffinantly put on a air show for ya!

    all fish were relesed.

    only tidlers, when they get to around the 5-6 kg they are great fun and yes, plenty of ariels!!,
    they have a nack to spit the hooks to
    we get ours on plastics sat in the school with little motion,

    That is a nice fish, Where were you fishing ? I have not caught one since leaving Rockvagas,

    How far south do Tarpon get ?

    You can only imagine how hard those giant tarpon of 4-5 ft from costa rica go like, its no wonder they trash lures.

    Try with a trout spinner lure next time, tarpon are complete suckers for flashing blades. Tarpon often attack celtas way down deep too so cast out and let it sink to the bottom and work it upwards for the most reliable hookups.

    In Aligator creek near Yaamba we have scored dozens of hookups an hour with tarpon on celtas and the like, landing them is trickier with about half of them managing to throw the hooks.

    I've caught them in the seaway.

    Great fun on light gear.
