Crappy weather equals less people, I luuurve crappy weather, just not at the start of the cycle, besides, a fish in adverse conditions is worth 10 in optimum conditions I reckon

I love it when the suns out, temps are up, gentle breeze, no one else buzzing past me in their screaming two pot bangers, if only I could get a trip like that to happen
Too right Brian ........ long periods of stable or unstable weather are productive ( sudden changes less so) ......... while unsubstantiated , I reckon that fishing takes a few days to improve after the crappy has gone! The muster weekend was an example of this - unstable during the week which improved later - Fine Fri / Sat / Sun ( very few fish caught) Sunday afternoon improvement - Monday , Tues & Wed saw some great captures ....... Moved to Awoonga ( again stable weather) - good results

    Chris
Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

Awww, bad luck Brian. Well it confirms that you're human after all.......

I'm a wee bit gobsmacked as I expect you to get a result everytime - you know you have a reputation to uphold young man!

You certainly make Awoonga sound daunting.......

I'm sure you'll kick some arse at Mondy in the very near future.....

Fish are there Pete, saw em on the lowrance, just to good for me on that trip.

I tried everything except over the side with a knife between my teeth, dont tell anyone but I even had a troll along the river bed drop off up the boyne in the middle of Saturday, marked some fish sitting just above the thermocline in 20 foot in the deeper water side of the drop off, so ran some deep divers for a bit, that didnt work either

There's nothing wrong with a troll but I would strongly advise against the Tarzan approach......"Here lies BR65 who, after bravely plunging into the depths of Awoonga chasing barra, was taken by a monster catfish hiding at the edge of a weed bed after concussing himself on some submerged timber- RIP"......

Sorry, it must be the drugs..........

Nothing like a tough trip to harden the resolve for next time Brian. We'll be up there 20-31 October, catching up with Benny from the 26th.

Was that your first Awoonga trip? She can be a tough arena first up, that's for sure.
