From what I heard Brian you had really crappy conditions to contend with both before & during your trip ........ Pretty tough when its like that!

    MAYBE NEXT TIME

    Chris

PS John (Obi-wan) is struggling at Faust atm ( similar conditions)
Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

You know me Chris, I think about a trip and it rains, I commit to a trip and it blows, I leave for the trip and the barometer takes a nose dive, I arrive and everyone tells me how good it was last week - phooey to that.

No excuses mate, just wasnt good enough on the day to crack a pattern that instigated a bite.

I SHALL have my revenge though.....

You know a phone call to Harro Friday saved a lot of travel and expense to find out the weather was CRAP.

Likewise Steve said it was pouring at Mondy

Im not made of sugar Darryl, so a bit of rain doesnt hurt, if I cancelled every trip that had bad weather forecast, I wouldnt be doing much fishing. Unfortunately my spare time is limited, so I go when I can, and deal with the conditions as I find them.
Strangely enough my biggest impoundment fish came on a day of 20+ sou easters and pouring rain, been like that all week, water temps were down, negative reports flying thick and fast, but sometimes ya just gotta have a go.
Im not blameing weather, far from it, a good fisho should be able to work around that, the 6 hour drive home gave me plenty of time to reflect on the reasons I zilched out.
    cheers

The thing is ...... that if conditions stay crappy - the fish will stop sulking & come on the chew ........... Our March trip followed that scenario ( consistently crappy conditions for around a week) ........ Lets see what feedback we get during this week

Hard luck Brian, I know exactly how you feel. When the oppurtunity comes to take a trip you just have to go for it. My last trip to Awoonga last year was howling SE and rain and I also got my PB on night when we wernt expecting it.

Chris, would you be suggesting productive stable weather doesnt necessarilly mean fine stable wather .

Crappy weather equals less people, I luuurve crappy weather, just not at the start of the cycle, besides, a fish in adverse conditions is worth 10 in optimum conditions I reckon

I love it when the suns out, temps are up, gentle breeze, no one else buzzing past me in their screaming two pot bangers, if only I could get a trip like that to happen

    Hey Brian
Well we both know that you've got to be on the water to catch em, remember the June trip, beanies gloves and thermals, but you still caught them! Been crappy here on the coast all weekend, but as we look out now beautiful sunshine, maybe you can influence the weather, can you organise good weather for 2 weeks time when i am at Awoonga????
    Cheers mate
    Ben

I'll do my best mate and plan a trip for myself 1000kms away, that should sort out the weather for you, and leave me the rubbish Im used to.
What date are you at A?

    cheers
