large baits
hi guys i was wondering if any1 could help me i need a live bait rig 2 suite large baits, specially those 4 mackerel, fish are at least 20cm, minimum.

Rig I use is 2 Mustad big gun 6/0 hooks. Use 48lb single strand brown wire and tie the two hooks on with a haywire twist. There will be a diagram of how to do this on the back of the pack of wire (or you will find it easy on the net). It is a pretty simple knot to tie. Tie the two hooks with a piece of wire about 15 cm apart, then use a second piece of wire about 40 cm long to tie the top hook to a swivel. Make a few of these rigs up with different distances between the hooks to suit different baits. Rig the bait forwards hooked through nose and 2/3 down back so it is facing the swivel. You can set it under a balloon or troll it.
An alternative is the the second hook (stinger) to be a small treble size 1/0 and stick one of the prongs up the bum.

Mate have used this rig for some years, Mono showed it to me, and its stopped big wahoo and even a 80kg sail.
