G'day
If you tint the screen, you risk stuffing your night vision.
Go and get yourself a pair of quality sunnies
Dave
if you are looking to keep the sun off your electrics
i have suction cupped a sheet of foam above mine inside the screen and still left some vision through the screen for driving works a treat
been there for years & the internal gps aerial works fine through it
like you i mostly am looking through the clear above the screen

What are you trying to stop... the UV, the glare, the bright sun, the heat..... for your own vision or for seeing your instruments?????.... wot.
If you are worrying about you instruments getting hot..... how hot... is it effecting their operation is the LCD going black?
If none of the aboveis realy a problem...... covering your boat at home will do more for the life of you instruments than anything you do on the water.
If you are worried still about the sun on your instruments just dror a tea towel over the back of em or something.
If it is the glare on the screens that is a problem that is far more complicated than you think.......unless you are going to fit a shroud and wear black I doubt if you will fix it.
If it is your vision that is a problem.......a hat and sunglasses will do more than anything else.

ty guys i no longer have to look through my wind screen . buy still coping the sun and heat . i could slap something [alum reflector] over the front of the screen .but wondered if there was a product like a dark screen that would reflect most sun but still give some vision cheers
Buy some fly screen mesh and see how one layer goes if no good try two Etc.
You can still see through the stuff and it should stop reflection.
A marriage licence should be like your fishing licence!
Expires every year and you get a 3 day pass when you go interstate.
milligan the foam certainly keeps the heat off the electrics and being shaded
helps to reduce glare
very simple and effective

Sorry to put the scuppers on fly screen but it does nothing apart from blocking out a persentage of light proportional to the open area of the screen.
This is a very popular recommendation in the aluminium window trade and it is a crock..... the only reason it seems to surpress the reflection is that it obscures vision.
one of my customers was sold "anti glare mesh" by a window company....it was nothing more than fly screen and it did squat except collect dirt.
It is a very poor option in comparison to a variety of other better options.
cheers
ok going to opt for a shade sail it will cover most my cabin roof and windscreen . the then options r shade cloth or canvas . i have shade cloth on my doors and windows plus both sides rear deck . this works great but being up front its either part wind blockage or total reflection [with canvas] wot to do wot to do
