    Problem with tranducer

Hi all i have a 620 with a p66 transducer it works fine when going slow but put some speed behind you and it stops reading depth has any one else had the same problem Thanks for any comments it driving me mad

    Re: Problem with tranducer

Transducer could be located too high and hence not properly in water when on the plane... or could be that its getting a lot of bubbly or distrubed water over it at speed causing it to not read properly... I'd investigate those two things first.

Yep I have that with my garmin.......as the boat speed picks up my transducer kicks up (mine isnt rigidly mounted) over a certain speed.

if yous is rigidly mounted it may be
    mounted too high
in a place where turbulence occurs
mounted with the wrong attitude and creating its own turbulence

there may simply be a point where your transducer is incapable of supplying a reliable sounding because the water over the transducer is not clean.

if you check out the manual for your sounder it should detail these issues.

    cheers

Set it up according to the instructions here and it should be fine.

Mine holds bottom very very well.
