your best bet would be to check out the sandy straights marine park map . its all accessable on the internet.closest to tin can of the the top of my head would be upstream of the logging ramp in kauri ck,there are a few more if your heading up to woody.

Upstream from the log dump is probably the most accesable, there is a little creek opposite the marina in snapper creek that is a green zone, there are also a few more up and down off tin can inlet. If you stop and see Ian at the bait and tackle shop opposite th IGA in tin can he should have free map that shows green zones and dugong go slow areas up around tinnanbar and the mouth of kauri.
What sort of boat are you taking up there and what are you after?

Catfishkid is dead right see Ian and get a DPI hand out sheet. There are 5 Marine National Parks or green zones in the Tin Can Inlet , 1 in Karrie Creek, and 1 at Double Island. There are large off the plane areas also. So caution is advised. The DPI inspectors were up here last week on jet-skis (2) and they were activly policing the green zones.
Regards Chappy.
PS The summer whiting are running in Tin Can so good luck.
