FNQ.. I dissagree.. transducer needs to be level with the water but not angled forward or back.. best sounding will be when the transducer is level with the bottom so it can receive the best signal . It doesnt take more than a millsec for the signal to be sent and received so why does the transducer need to shoot the signal forward.. people get cr@p signals because they dont have the transducer deep enough or they have something causing a turbulent flow over the transducer. Anyone mounting a transducer inside a hull ie Airmair M260 1kw does not angle the transducer.. its installed as level as possible.
