    great report rc, thanks

it's such a glorious place. loved your pics. we were up there for 6 days early this month. 1 fish @ 4pm on the last day, so it can drive u to drink..... good luck with the young fella. it's hard to keep them interested in things at that age unless they really get the bug.

    regards

Chin up mate, if it was easy every one would be doing it, just ask the full moon basin trollers

Casting can be hard slog on a quiet day, but as a positive, you saw at least 3 fish, now, why were those fish where you find them, why did Rob head to a certain spot, thinking music is playing mate, if you went back tomorrow what would you do differant?? Thats how I handle a quiet day, try to highlight the positives and figure out why the switch was turned on at that spot for that bite.

Good report mate, how was the houseboat to stay on??

    cheers

Hi all and thanks for all the replys. Don't worry I wont be giving up and I am going to hang in there. If I was a single bloke I would drive up from the Goldy this friday night and give it another go for the weekend. Sorry If I sounded so frustrated and disappointed. I know you learn from experience and being on the water is the best teacher. It is a long drive to these northern impoundments and its very hard to justify and get away more than a couple of trips in a year - but I'll try.

I remember my first trip to Awoonga with 2 fish landed but the one that stayed on my mind was that fought hard and long and finally got cut off on the prop. I thought about that barra every day until the next trip up there. The first night back, 6months later, in exactly the same spot, I hooked up again and had played it thru my head so many times it all fell together like clockwork.

Steve, I didnt get on the houseboat until Wednesday evening. I was in white polycraft with a shiny new Yamaha on the back.

Brian, thanks for the words of wisdom. The house boat is great to stay on and doesnt work out expensive when you share it amongst a few of you. It is great being on the water continuously. It is fantastic to use it as a mothership and saves alot of time and fuel over a few days. Also you are always first on to any spots most mornings and can tend to stay out as late as you like without the fear of negotiating as many trees on the way back.

The kids had a great time in the tender that was provided and you can also hire a generator for it. Supplies can be brought out to you each day if you like. Here are a couple of more photos.

    Hi Richard,
We came travelled over from BP for the day and went past the Houseboat on Thursday morning and have to report that in about 150 + days of fishing Monduran this was the first day that I have ever drawn a complete blank, not a touch! so you were not the only one doing it hard.
There is always the next trip.

    Bad Bazza
