Thread: Yalta Owners Club-aka-Roll Call

    Re: Yalta Owners Club-aka-Roll Call

Thanks guys. I'm pretty sure mine has had a bit of bounce for a while and is slowly getting worse. On the left hand side when you walk on the floor it feels like whatever holds the floor down has let go. Hard to explain but it creaks and feels like it has lifted a little so when you walk on it, it bottoms out. If that makes sense. It's has become a lot more springy in the middle now above the fuel tank.
Doesn't matter either way but I'm going to have to fix it at some point, was thinking about selling so not sure what to do.
Just curious also if any of the other yaltas are sealed around the inspection ports r

Mine is the same as you describe except for the springy part in the middle.

    Re: Yalta Owners Club-aka-Roll Call

Well it is time for me to hand back my membership to the Yalta club. Waved goodbye to my 555 yesterday. It is headed back down to Brisvegas so you bay siders may see it out and about. The new owner was talking about hitting the bay today to give it the full test....

    Sad day mate.

What did you replace her with?

    Re: Yalta Owners Club-aka-Roll Call

Yep was a little sad to see it go. Haven't replaced it yet but will be down sizing for the next one. Have a mate up here with a KC 5.2 so will still get offshore.

Been working hard on the Yalta lately. Apart from the new seats I had made up, finally got my 115ltr tank finished for the bow. Below is some pics for those interested.

I ended up draining the tank in my Yalta and filling it to see how big the tank actually was. I'm one lucky guy, the tank turned out to be 180ltrs. Now have a 295ltr capacity in the girl, perfect for 1770 trips now!

Other work I have done to her recently is an auto-pilot and fixing the bait tanks up a bit. I'm currently working on plumping the second bait tank.

    Julian,

What's in the front hatch just in front of the inspection port?

That's a wet box mate. Very small... Not sure why they built it into the boat personally, but it has a drain hole in there, so I think the intention was for a kill box, but with it's size it doesn't make sense.

Took the dogs down to the Logan for a swim this morn, so took the boat for a quick burn. Thought I'd bump the Yalta thread again. These are some pics the Mrs took.

    Looks good mate.
i just finished a new ice box to slide up under the seat frames. Gets me plenty of capacity, and don't have to keep sliding the box out to put fish in/get beer out.
