Yalta Up date ..... new Icey tek 150ltr split lid esky's in white to suit the colour of the boat.
Fit very neat and provide a comfy seat when the fishing is slow. Come in a left and a right so the lids open which ever way you want.

Any new Yalta's or updates on Ausfish?
Not a big update boat wise but I’ve added a Furuno 588 to the dash and a new hole in the boat for the through hull transducer.

Hey Finicky, have you had a chance to test the thru hull yet? interested to see the results of the location, i'm about to do the same and have been trying to work out the best spot, was going to go very similar but a little higher up but concerned with the 1/4 length planning strake up the front of the boat. Where you have it seems to be a good spot.
Good to see the Yalta's still going strong!
After a couple of years of living in Emerald, I'm finally bringing Bimini Twist back home to Gladstone, cant wait to get her out and about again.
A thought that has plagued me for many years is the flooring. Carpet, love to hate it. Has anyone pulled the old carpet up and up something new in or just fished on the exposed deck??? Does anyone have any pics of what the floor looks like once the carpet is pulled up???
Cheers

Gday nidrac, I had it installed by QME so I was pretty confident with them putting it wherever they thought best.
I’ve done a couple trips of Inskip point and a few trolling trips off Brisbane and can not fault the unit. Clear picture at all speeds and through some sloppy conditions. It’s amazing how your fishing improves when you can clearly see what’s under you at all times.

Hey FINICKY mmmmm slippery is probably not ideal, clip in and out wouldn't be too bad.
OZY! Yer mate havnt been haunting the forum in recent years, so thought I'd better get back in the groove! Perfect time to do some changes to the Yalta while I'm at it! I've thought about removing the carpet since I got the boat, but it always went into the too hard/cant be buggered basket, could end up there again! Cant wait to get her back out to the reef, its been a while...….Hope all is well.
Cheers,
Josh

I watched the boys install it. It looked as easy as drill a hole through the bottom of your boat (that’s the bit I was scared of), put in the transducer, seal it up then plug in to the head unit.
They put it as low on the boat as possible to avoid air bubbles and for less movement when the boat is rocking side to side, and as far forward as the trailer rollers would allow to get away from the turbulent water around the prop.

Carpet in.
8 clips later, carpet out.
Hey FINICKY, that floor looks pretty smicky duck mate, did you scrape all the glue off the floor? Ahhh I see you still got those bloody toe kickers tabs for the removable boxes in, kicked my toe once, out they came lol.
