Hey blokes, how you going?
just noticed on my last trip that my 555's front hatch leaks a fair bit of water through, ie spray on the water and rain while on the highway. Everything is in tact.
Is this common?
any solutions?
thanks
Rob
Yes it is common and has been an issue for me when caught in a rain squal off Cape Moreton. If rain is your issue now, wait till you are facing into enough chop that the nose of the boat is scooping into waves and your bunk cushions get a drenching. I think the only way to fix this is to build up the hatch with fibreglass or similar so that it meets with the underside of the hatch door more accurately leaving no gaps. I found putting an adhesive backed seal on this is useless because of the traffic going to the anchor well. Leaning on this area disrupts anything placed there, so the only way to deal with this issue is to build it up which is a shame when it appears someone got too heavy handed with the grinder in the 1st place. Mine is better, (a little rough around the edges) and not a factory result, it's another job you need time to finish it well.
Scalem
I put the adhesive backed foam seal on the lid and that, so far, has helped a lot. I still get a bit of water in but that is because I ran out of seal and have a gap. Try that and see how you go as it is cheap and easy to try.

For small leaks I have used this with great results. I'm sure their is something similar though.
CAPT TOLLEY CREEPING CRACK CURE
Looks like a Gr8 product but not suited to this application. The "gap" is 1stly on the vertical lip of the hatch so this stuff will gravitate downwards, away from the area it needs to fill. The gap at its worst is also probably 3 or 4 mm shy of meeting with the underside of the hatch door which is too much to fill using this material IMHO
Scalem
Good call Scalem as it's not far off the consistency of water, and I've found it best for very small anoying leaks. It fixed a leak in my hatch, but like you say horses for courses.
Hi blokes, how are you?
im off to NW island next month, and want to take a spare prop with me. Just seeing what you all are running to see if I should play with a different size or pitch.
I have a triple 5 with a 115 4 stroke yam.
Thanks in advance.

Has anyone had any dramas with your floor. I have a 2006 triple 5 and the floor feels like it's loose and split down the middle,
Have you lifted the carpet to have a look?

No not yet, was just wondering if anyone else has had a drama with them.
Hi guys,
I know a lot of Yalta owners would like to upgrade to Yamaha Four Stroke, so check out my ad in the classifieds http://www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/cla...em&itemid=1960
