    flathead classic prefish, do you???

As its been a little quiet on here of late i was just wondering, for those guys fishing the classic, are you prefishing and not putting reports up about it, or do you think prefishing makes it harder to fish on comp day so you dont do it. Cheers Bennykenny.

There have been a lot of boats out there. I think loose lips sink ships. P.S good luck for everyone in the classic.

Being my 1st Classic I had all the intentions of getting in a few sessions beforehand, but it just didn't happen, got 1 in but was blowin a gale, didn't get out of the river!!! I'll be flyin blind unfortunately, at least I'll have no expectations!!!!! Cheers, Jamie.

i have been out every weekend for the last four weeks. i would love to be putting up posts but unfortunately the fishing for me personally has been very tough.

I have only caught about 30 fish in four sessions & only up to 55cm. this is the first year i have really pre fished properly & it isn't doing much for my confidence.

I know of a couple of other Ausfishers i have seen out there & they tell me the same as what i have been experiencing. i would be interested to here from others that have been pre fishing (not in detail) to see how they have been going.

Unfortunately i think the flathead have been watching the news as well & they have gone into a recession

Nut-GC lizards love southerlies mate. Northerlies suck!
Deadstick-Were biting in all the norm spots today mate, with plenty of big fish around.
BK-Coupla a serious blokes out there today mate. Didn't get to chat to them to see how they went though...Lots of guys smashed the big fish right up to the day before the comp last year and we found it hard jigging the deep stuff for big fish during the comp. Oversize and undersize fish covered in net marks prob didn't help either.

Yep, forecast is for three days of Northerlies!

I have done a bit of pre-fishing for the Classic this year and found it to be one of the slowest seasons in years. First we had more weed than ever before, then the northerlies kicked in.

There haven't been many posts on Ausfish this year, but I don't think too many people are foxing, just that almost every weekend has had poor conditions for Flathead fishing. The guys that can fish midweek have had better weather and from what I have heard have got much better results.

Good Luck and see everyone at the Classic.

theres not much that can be done about the wind i suppose, which ever direction it is comming from i guess its just going to be up to persistance, if you havet got a lure in the water you just not going to catch the fish.

i went out for a prefish on yesterday (Monday), was blowing a gale so it was hard work. I only got a few up to 50cm, dropped a slightly bigger one....

I was fishing near one of the top teams from last years classic for a while and i didn't see them boat a fish although they could have and maybe i just didn't see it, but they looked to be doing it as tough as the rest of us are at the moment.

i reckon this years classic will be a tough one but i am sure the good guys will find them, hopefully my team will find a few!!
