    land based bonanza

    g,day all
had a few mates come down from brissy sav and troy (blue mako) we didnt have a boat so we were land based more the day,
first up we went to a few spots around narang using plastcs and shallow divers to catch half a dozen good size bass in some natural creeks before heading right into the upper reaches on tweed to find some more bass/tarpon
it was extremly windy and casting lightly weighted plastics and hard bodies into the wind wasnt easy and after a few thousand cast troy hooks up to a nice little tapon around 40-45cm after a few head shakes and tail walks he landed it and was pritty stocked, a short ride in the car saw us in the brackish water catching bream in the reads with jackal chubbies untill we saw some big fish bsuting into bait and once again troy was straight onto it and after a huge surface strike troys rod loaded over and line started pealing of the 2000 sol. after a sold battle on light line we jumped down into the water to land his big eye trevally around 2-2.5kilo.
after that nice fish troy was determand to catch another trevor while sav and i caught some good bream from 30-32cm on a rangle of soft and hard lures.
finally i hooked into a very big fish and having the rod almost ripped out of my hands and the line peal of with some tremendous head shakes i was pritty worried about my 6lb leader, the little heartlands reel was getting smoked and just after taking control of the fish we new it was a very big jack, we all started to get exitied until.... yep the bloody hooks pulled and the chubbie had a few tiny holes in the plastic from the teeth, bugger we called it fro around 60cm.
after fishing from 5am till 6pm we decided to eat something before our night seshion
troy ate 4 sausages and a plate of rice in about a minute,
we went and fished ontop of the local bridges with tt and ecoger 1/4 ounch blades and all caught some cracker gt,flathead a nice size cod and bream.
the action was hot with nearly everuy cast producing a hit or fish.
we also had some classic bust offs by some very large gt.
the next morning we hit the tweed trawlers for a few bream and trevally.
i will have pics up as soon as i can.
id also like say good bye to some lures we lost in action
    4 jackal chubbies
    2 ecogear
3 blades and a hell of alot of jighead

well done mate sounds like you have been pretty busy. It would of sucked loosing all those lures but i guess in the end it was probably worth it.

Mate that Jack you lost was a screamer! Chubby came back with solid teeth marks.

I thought that Big Eye was going to be a HUGE Tarpon. Weird how a solid fish will eat a 35mm hard body. Go the Pearl Sugar Deep.

Hopefully be back down in a week or two.

Fish the structure catch the fish, it's just unfortunate that the structure likes to eat tackle. Regardless of the losses it sounds like it was an awesome sesh.

Haha Pete. Every time I walk into a tackle shop I can't help but buy 1 lure. Got some deep diving Thready lures for the next few sessions from Lucky Craft, Jackall and Smith. Replaced 1 of my blades lost last night after work .

Put the pics up Nathan, I haven't even seen them.

Sound's like a great day out Nathan!!! I'm onto you though, seems you have picked a great place of employment judging by the amount of lures you and Troy like to give to the fish and snags,........staff discount eh, niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice, Cheers, Jamie.
