    Estuary cod in NSW

    a mate an i are heading to the Tweed river on Saturday afternoon and we had a little disagreement about the estuary cod, i thought they were protected while the mate said that you are allowed to take certin types of them?

      Only gold spot estuary cod(Epinephelus Coioides) are protected not the black spot and its not from lack of them its to stop people mistaking them for black cod which are very hard to come by after the spearfisherman nearly wiped them out.
