Tom Burns had one major failing as a politician, he was an honest guy. Tom saw the realities of life in a simple and straightforward way. He was one of the original proper people in our ever deteriorating political scene. When asked about how he felt when Jo Bjelke finally lost the election to Labour, his comment was "well, you would have to suck a lemom to keep the smile off you face!".

Hope to find another person like Tommy Burns to influence our political scene. In the meantime, all we seem to have is yuppies, do-gooders and wankers, none of which have any contact with real people.

Green usually means somebody with some degree of money (or, more often, hiding their lack of) making decisions for the "unwashed hordes".

I don't know how to deal with this great fishing debate. Lets close it all and wipe out the great Australian pastime of "going fishing with a mate". Bloody hell, its about time we stopped enjoying ourselves! Seems Malcolm Frazer was right, "life wasn't meant to be easy"...well, other than for people with lots of money.

Sorry all, my comments were more to do with inspiring further thoughts Shit, I am about to buy a new fishing boat and don't want to leave it useless in the yard.

Here is a thought,
I hope it can be put into practice. I have made some assumptions in writing this I hope no -one is offended. If so apologies in advance.

IF YOU ARE READING THIS YOU HAVE A COMPUTER

Just as Phill has posted on You tube lets get as many of the 20,000 + Ausfishers to print at home or at the local library, {50???leaflets}
A reasonable percentage of you have a printer. If not you can copy to a disk/flash card of some sort and achieve a similiar result.

Next we need some consistent copy and a message with cut through.

Stating the position we see. and the solutions we prefer, and urging the recipients to respond through their local member/s.
This exercise might involve ,say a quarter hour to print, and an hour to hand deliver to your local area.

In my area that is about two streets worth of houses.

This can be achieved at any time of day or night.


I am not sufficiently "au fait" with the various issues or the minutae of the argument that we Ausfishers want to see put forward.

So I ask would one of you gentlemen who have the various strands of issues to hand and a good turn of phrase would you please care to publish a Template for a leaflet,

Steve! Would you be willing to allow the members of this board to use your logo and business name?? IE;;
WE THE MEMBERS OF AUSFISH BEING CONCERNED USERS OF MORETON BAY......

ALL Ausfishers who would like to influence the outcome of this debate I urge you to print and distribute at least 50 copies in your neighbourhood. For the expenditure of two hours including a nice bit of exercise you can help influence not only your member of parliment but your friends and nieghbours too.

Time for talking,,,, over,,,, here is a practical proposition to create mass awareness.
