i was thinking about hunting down and digging some fresh worms for whiting session, in the Brisbane area. I know you can find worms on most surf beaches but when looking for them in the sheltered beaches and flats do you look for holes as you would with yabbies or do you look for a different sign?
i was also thinking i might try some sp worms, do you use them hole or in sections as i would with live worms??
Any advice tips, areas, tricks and guidance would be gratefully received
we dig them up at low tide at wellington point walking towards king island. Walk about half way out and stay towards the grassy stuff not the sand and look for little holes with black sand balls around them. The sand they are usually in around there is very black so once you dig around the hole sift through it and look for the worm. We use a pitch fork better than a shovell.
There is also some very good whiting along these banks all year round. The incoming tide is best.
