have seen blokes digging in the mud banks in glassy and coochin creek with there hands for worms but you get dirty muddy and smelly but they say they are the best bait there but me if i do not dig blood worms i by them the corner store at donny brook gives you a heap for 25 dollars, crabs not sure about the muddie but told my mate to drop the pots for sandys in the main channel on saturday and he got 8 sandies in the pots, dillies are better there but you need the last hour and the first hour of either top or bottom of the tide ot there is to much run
plenty of blood worms in Glasshouse mate, dig for them by hand, just backfill your trench as you go, helps minimize the damage to the banks. They are THE bait for 40+ whiting up there.
Havent heard anything about the muddies, usually early in the season the sandies are the go, like Shane said above.
