Hi all.
Heading up to Hinchinbrook tomorrow so thought I'd ask a couple of questions before I leave.
I have never fished it before, the forecast is 10-15 knots on Mon&Tues. As I have never fished there before what would the run out to Bramble reef be like in these conditions in a 4.55m boat(50hp)?
also what side of the reef is most productive?any tips would be great thanks
Ideally you want to see Davies and Myrmidon at single figure wind speeds or it's nasty in a little boat.
Having said all that I've been out that way countless times in a 4.2m Seajay cuddy owned by a mate in flat conditions and it's fine.
Any wind at all will make it a tough trip, especially if your boat is one of those vile, pounding tin things .
Bramble itself is not that good a reef - it's what I'd call "old", very worn down and not a lot of good rough ground - go the extra little bit to Trunk/Little Trunk or Britomart.
Monday and tuesday look do-able....maybe a bit lumpy like Boris said but if you arent prepared to head out in 10-15 up here then you will rarely get out......
