nice jacks well done
great looking fish. i hope i can better that one, she's a beauty
figjam
WOW! now they are some nice MJ's, they are massive for Gold Coast areas mate... the ones we get on lures around the traps are NEVER that nice! But I guess that's because you catch yours in clean very salty water [seaway] and on live bait and not up in the muddy rivers using lures...
Keep 'em coming, hopefully I can compete!![]()
I agree, the larger, fatter and better Jacks are the ones caught in and around the seaway in cleaner waters. They are harder to catch and not as abundant as the lure hitters. Although some large Jacks do get caught in the upper reaches but the majority are the small thin ones.
Good hunting!
we lost 3 the other night all over 60cm near the seaway should have some big ones up soon.
good looking fish there, I GOT my son one for a pet last week as good eating as they are I wont be eating them anymore .....unless he costs me too much to feed.
Great pics for some great fish SS. Now you just gotta watch ya back cause it's game on down there I reckon.
Richie
Some beautiful Jacks there SS! Time for me to go venturing!
Cheers,
...in case of emergency, take me fishing
As we all would be aware it's been very windy on the Goldy over the past week or so, so haven't had much of a chance to add to the MJ tally of late.
I have been so keen to get out and have another crack as I know they are now there for the taking. Popped out for a brief afternoon session today and although very windy still managed to bust one off and land the one below.
Heading out again over the weekend and will post here if I manage to jag any more.
Stay tuned....
