It's not Summer yet but it might as well be... Just got back in from my first inspection of the Jack season. I thought it may be a little early but after seeing our fellow Jack hunters on this forum I decided to take a look.

Grabbed some live prawns and low and behold - you guys were right on the money! My local Gold Coast spot is producing, even in September.

Spent about 3 hours in the seaway and landed 2 Jacks. One was 57cm and the other was a small one at 44cm. Both released fit and healthy.

Can't wait to get some more spare time and hook back into them.

Bloody well done SS, but you know that brag mats are not accurate. Could be out a couple of cm's either way. I caught one last season that was 54cm on the mat but was 55cm on the ruler. Your's may have in fact been longer, Peter.

That is the first time I have heard of a brag mat under quoting - usually they tend to add a few cm's!

Great job mate for this time of year. I'm finding lot's of summer fish already hitting hard....lovin' it. Bring it on, should be a great season.
