Northern NSW Leatherjackets

Hi all,

Increasing work commitments & the crappiest year on record for fishing has kept me at home a fair bit lately, but Sunday is shaping up to be the best day of the week,
SO... I was just looking for a bit of local info as to wheather the ocean going pirahna were still around Ballina???? Anyone got any clues?

Lets see mate....the weathers been crap...for a looong time.......you've been working your butt off........I reckon its a foregone conclusion!!! they'll be in plague proportions...nah Ive got no idea mate but hope you catch plenty of quality fish

fished off Evans Head up to 40 fathoms and didn't see a single leatherjacket last weekend.

They came on strong about 2 months ago but i haven't heard anything of them since. Only one massive one taken on a whole pilly down at wooli.

Fished evans a few weeks ago for 4 days and only saw 1. Plenty of Trag though.

The wave of jackets seemed to be pretty eratic this year,

Mark, much to my own dismay I have been to sea 3 times this year, certainly not what I'm used to,
as usual,I really want to go & get a few of the brown slimey ones, we'll see,

Hi Muzz, mate havent seen one for a few weeks now- touch wood! Been working a fair bit too- I think they have gone for the year. Good luck on sunday- plenty of snapper and pearlies around the 45 and 50 fathom line.

Hehehe Muzz, after such a long lay off you'll have to have a few extra weet bix if your gunna drag a thumpin big brown slimie one out of the depths...you'll be out of condition....off to Darwin this arv I reckon I'll be twisting the top off a few by 7 tonight and fishin by 10 in the morning...hmm maybe lunchtime....goodluck with the weekend and I'll catch up when I get back

Did anyone get out today?? how'd did ya's go?? hopefully the whether gets better i'm sick of me either having to work or have something on and trying get good whether inbetween all the other stuff lol

Made me sick Mono,
we were s'posed to fish a club day, but we cant go on a strong wind warning, no matter how good it looks,

yeah i could have gone ...........

I could make excuses, work, blahblahblah........I have fished for 2 days a week average for the last 8 years, does anyone else get fishing burn-out?????
