Re: Any Botany Bay captures lately?

I've been fishing botany bay randomly over the past month with a mate.

Getting some squid from the end of the break wall an molinoux point, and down rigging for kingfish around the wall.

Normally hooking up at the 155 mark on the wall.

After a few fish, or dropped fish (if they get to the reef before we get them to the boat), we flick some plastics on the sand flats at towra point, with a few nice flatties caught. The water isn't too deep here so feel free to pull the boat a shore and walk the sandbank.

Mainly using pumpkin seed gulp, not too big with a nice tail action.

Apparently there is some fat whiting taking live worms along Brighton beach. I'm pretty eager to do the drift along there, maybe even drift and downrigg a live squid on long leader in the deepish water for a Jew whilst picking up the whiting/bream/flatties on some light gear. I think finding a happy medium for both fish might be hard though. Anyone catching Jews in not so deep water on the beach front?

I've heard they got a 14kg Jew doing a similar method this time last year so my fingers are crossed.

There are billions of boats at Captain Cook Bridge of a night, but IMO, there are 20+ spots around there area that are more enjoyable to fish as the water really rips through under the bridge and gets hard to keep a bait where you want it.

The hot water outlet use to be gold, but with the work on the de-sal plant, all the water is murky, and id hate to think what chemicals they have stirred up, so fishing that immediate area is not on my agenda anymore.

Trevally along the molinauex point break wall as always, but i'll leave my mates to fish for them. The amount of by-catch you pick up there is enough to drive me crazy. Its like the worlds population of sweep originated in this spot. Maybe change the title to sweep city?

But all in all, I can confirm rat kings along the molli wall, bream and flathead on the sand flats at towra and decent whiting on Brighton beach.

    cheers

    Gorms
