    Hello :-)

Seems the thing to do here is make an introduction, so here it is.

My name is Matt, I live in Maroochydore on the lovely Sunshine Coast. I'm about 200m from the river as the crow flies. I'm 27yo and am currently a full time Dad to two kids, one 4 and one 8.

I love my fishing, have done for many years, but havn't been able to get a line in too often the last couple of years. I'm forcing a change so I can get my line wet again, so I'll be out and about whenever possible.

Looking to buy my first little boat (thread in the boating forum) to make it all the more fun.

If anyones keen on a fish around Maroochydore it can't hurt to throw me a message.

    Cheers,

    Matt.

Cheers Depending on whether I might duck out for a short fish.. I'm just holding on a little until I get my boat.. Then I think I'll treat myself to a new rod/reel, some lures and some new tackle.

    Re: Hello :-)

Went for a fish along La Balsa park today. Unfortunately I only managed to get there about half an hour before the top of the tide. I hooked off one of my first casts and pulled in a 27cm bream and had a big hit shortly after which I missed. Top of the tide came and just about nothing happened for the next 3 hours.

I saw a couple of things though.. One that made me feel a little sad.. A little lad of about 5 asked me what I was trying to catch. When I replied "fish" he goes "I've never done that before"... FIVE years old and has never fished? The humanity!

Right before leaving I saw 7 identical multi million dollars boats come in one after another... Quite the sight.

Welcome to Ausfish. Firstly congratulations for posting in the right section. Secondly congratulations on making the decision to get a first boat. I did the same last year and it opens up a whole new world to fishing. I started with an old tinny to get soem experience (Scratching and dinging and old clunker doesn't reduce you to tears) and once my confidence levels went up accordingly I lashed out and bought a brand new Blue Fin. Have never looked back since. Now all I need is more fish in the bay to bring home.

    Regards,

    Poodroo
