    new snapper rod

Hey have a Stradic 4000 spooled with 30lb sunline castaway that i use on a snapper raider for snapper with plastics. The rod is not a bad rod dont get me wrong but lacks a bit at times. Was thinking of a nitro or Sub 400 dollars mark any ideas.

    Egrell S10 aroudn $450 or a Bear S10 around $350

I just bought a Bear S10 and am absolutely rapt with it.

I am in the same boat. Many recommend Loomis Forcelight or Egrell but they blow the budget somewhat. Duncan at Fishead showed me a nice Diawa (Coastal I think)but I did not like the fore grip (very short) but a nice blank. The Nitros are very nice and would probably suit well but they are not exactly what I am looking for
I will watch this post with interest

Like Loomis. You break a section - no questions asked - You pay a fee ($50 or $60) and you get a replacement. Better than buying a new rod.

Depending on the depth of water you're fishing in, take a close look at the Egrell Bear S4, they punch well above their weight. Any of the Bear range will give you change from your budget. Aussie made and designed too,

It would be worth having a look at the S4 bear. the 4000 stradic might be a bit heavy on it but these would have to be one of the best sub $400 snapper rods around. The loomis' (GL2's and dropshots) in this price bracket dont come close in my opinion.

Loomis expediter is $150 for most rods ($200 for GLX's.)
