Heading up to Lakefield mid October and was wondering if any Ausfishers had any tips eg which camp sites ,places of interest, things that could save me dramas...

Are you taking a boat up? and what areas do you plan to fish? the fresh or saltwater?
I head up that way ever year to fish the coastal reefs,rivers etc. I can maybe give you a few tips and places to go etc if you have never fished north QLD before
Yep , were leaving the trailer boat at home but taking a car topper up (3.6m barra punt) and plan to fish the fresh water. Would concider fishing some tidal if there is access but were first timers to the park so we don't know what we are up for.

You'd be made not to head up to Bathurst bay area and have a crack at the headlands,creeks. Very do-able in a small tinny+ heaps better fishing than the lagoons IMO
