any info on fishing cardwell?
Im going on a fishing trip to cardwell early january and want to know if anyone has any info on good spots, gps marks, what species worth targeting etc. Restricted mainly to calmer waters due to boat size (16ft c/console w/50hp). Never been there before so any info would be sweet.

Darbwah,
From Cardwell Missionary Bay is a good spot to target, and it holds plenty of quality fish.
There's a number of creeks that run into the Bay that are also worth having a look at.
That being said there's a lot of water up there, and having a short run with a local charter operator can save you heaps of time working out how the area fishes best.
I've been out a couple of times now with a bloke Ryan Moody who runs UBeaut Barra Charters from Cardwell and cought heaps of top fish, and learnt a lot about the area. He also writes for QFM so you can read a bit more in about whats happening in there.
Cheers
Jim
