hi guys, i know there has been many threds about this previously but me and my brother are trying to catch a few bullies around the coast for some thing different.thinking of going out this weekend any tips you guys could share with me. using 8/0 hook 1m of 200lb trace 60lb line with a float and using some sting ray wings as bait(caught a diecent one the other day so thaught it would be good bait), we will be land based prob around budds beach at night time.is it still too cold do u think or will i be alright.any tips for burlying up? any info would would be great
yeah u may get lucky but its def better once it warms up, gonna chase a few meself..............not sure how you'll go on the beach, but from the boat i just keep all the old bait, buy heaps of tuna oil, and them real tuna blocks, chook pellets, mash it all up then put it all into two litre milk cartons and freeze em, then take as many as u see fit for the night, cut the carton open stick it in a orange sack and get it in the water, float the baits back and wait for the greatest sound eva...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
your mind is like a parachute, it only works when its open
yea sweet as matie ill have a crack any way ill throw out a heavy line and burly up while fishing for other stuff. if any one else has any tips my ears are open
i tried down behind the convention center at broadbeach last week but i found the current was too strong and i was having to wind in every 30 secs - 1 min.
where are some good place to try for em either land based or from a tinnie?
keep trying, they are everywhere down here.
I find them more prevalent in shallower water up to 2-3ft deep with a slow current in the upper reaches of canal systems.... just watch out for the bitey end as they are very 'snappy'
going ot head out on sat night if the weather is good, it doesnt look too good so far though. was going to try around lake intrepid in my tinnie, any one caught any around there or got some where they think i should try.
PM me if you want
