Tagged 75cm Flathead
Thought some of you might be intrested in this one,had a charter on Tuesday in the Pumicestone Passage and we bagged a75cm Flathead that had a Fisheries tag in her.
After contacting Fisheries turns out she was First caught and tagged in May 2004 when she measured 44cm and was caught about 5kms further south of where we landed her. The guy at fisheries told me of one they had that travelled some 400kms.
She fell to a Maple Softie Rack Glider in a Silver Shiner Colour on a Alien Sakana rod 4-8lb and a Stellla 1000 spooled with 4lb Fireline and after a ten miniute battle and some happy snaps was retuned to the depths she came from, Brian from Anglers Advantage.

What did you think of the Alien Rod. I have just picked up my Zion in the 4-8 pound range and can't wait to use it, it will be matched with daiwa advantage 2500.

Sammys,
Thanks for reporting the fish. I caught that flathead in the ski area south of Bells Creek on peeled banana prawn. It is my third longest (in time) recapture, the previous two were 2222 days and 1866 days. I'm glad the young fella lived to become an old lady.
