anyone know the drag rating on the emblem pro 5500?
Don't know the drag for the reel but looked at the new emblem surf rod today. Fantastic. Have already asked Santa if he (she) could fit it in this year's budget.....
I run 15kg braid for medium popping and spinning on mine, so therefore set the drag at about 3.5kg in open waters and 5kg in shallow reefy areas where a fish needs pulling up fast, the drag can be tightened up a bit more if necessary. I recon the reel could handle 8kg.![]()
yea im lookin to put at least 50lb on it for spinning lures and gars for kings from the rocks
also lookin for a rod to throw it on. what are the emblem surfs like?
anyone know what rod would be good, or blank for a custom?
Recommended line rating for this reel is 30Lb, 10lb of drag.
Any more I would think would burn it out if loaded up consistantly.
Angler if you PM me in two weeks time I will be able to dig out my Emblem Pro and tell you. At the moment it is packed for moving, but by then I will be there. Naturally, the first thing to be unpacked is fishing stuff!!!!
Mate about 1/3 of the line ie 5kg drag 15kg main line.cheers
ok guys cheers, lookin for a reel with a bit more stoink
