    Monster Madness

Went out for a fish this morning. I got out to orchid rock about 4am and had a little fish there for a while with no luck and no serious strikes. I headed around towards west point on sunup and stop at monsters inc had some big strikes with now hookups when finally my floater takes of and i look up to see a 8kg queenie tail walking on the end of my line not the mackie i was after but just as much fun.
afetr i put him back in the water my bottom rig took of and i thought the yanks had a nimitzs class working around maggie i was sure it was going to be a big GT but when i finally saw colour i nearly fainted it was the biggest finger i have ever seen, I grab the gaff in one hand with the rod in the other he tris for the bottom again taking a direct root past my anchor rope ping. I may not have boated him but that fish will be in my memory forever. while i am rerigging the rod i drop the handline down to keep a bait on the bottom within 2 minutes it starts rolling out slowly i grab it and then i smell burning flesh . drop the line don some gloves and hang on. I know what it is going to be but i hate busting of until i get most of my line back, after 10mins i have a very cranky 8foot tiger alongside the tinny so cut the line and move on, for a bit of trolling no macks but a coulpe of big wolfies decide they like the lures and i decide they will convert well to spaniards next time i head out. home and washed down by 1230 Curse all you fellas for having to work today someone on the gaff would have been handy. Oh and also got a good feed of flagg.

Sounds like fun Wade, I think I might ditch plans for the Bohle and head out to Maggie instead, but will leave it until Sunday, its got more consistent looking weather and a little mor run than tomorrow. bad luck about the giant finger, would've been good to see it, biggest I've seen was caught by my brother, it went just on 70cm.

I didn't realise stirpey's were any good eating, I've been throwing them back, I'll have to keep a couple next time and give em a try.

Monster Inc ? I take it thats the little bay just forward of West Point ?

Great to hear mate, that fingermark would have been awesome.

Yeah, I was wondering where that was, if its near Westpoint there's a couple of small bays and healands along there, then liver point, soundlike its well worth a look inside there in the future.

Monsters inc is the name i have given to a very prominent spot on maggie (white rock) it is just that it seemed like everything there was big today even all the stripeys where around 40cm.I like stripeys i find them very similar in chewing to finger mark just not to often are they worth it due to size. 100cm would be a conservitive guess on the fingers size.

I've seen decent Macs taken from White rock, pulled a pretty big slatey bream out about 3 weeks ago, would have been about 50-60 cms ish. Other than that Im a little over the spot, I cant seem to get anything out of it. Everyone else does though

    good show wade,

pitty you missed the finger but hey he's there for me next time lol.

it is not going to be long & the fingers will start showing up in numbers!
& boy do i have some good spots for them, fish up to 11kg (my biggest) & over.
wouldn't like to see a jet skier come off over with that tiger haning around.
