    gold coast jacks

HI There every one. My name is Tim and im new to this. Im just wanting to say hello to all the members out there. I have lived and fished on the coast for most of my life and in the last couple of years have taken up using lures instead of bait, after being converted by a friend of mine. I am particularly intreseted in catching mangrove jacks on the gold coast i tried last season but only managed to boat one of them. if any one has any tips on where to go it would be greatly appreciated. i have a boat and a bow mount electric motor and im eager to get stuck in

Tim, do a search, just type in "Jack" and you'll be reading 4 weeks. Good luck with the coming season.

    Re: gold coast jacks

    Tim,

Generally Jack fisho's are pretty secretive about their spots and don't share too much with people they don't know (I am guilty of this too). These fish are too good to catch just once and that is what causes the secrecy.

In saying that you are definitely fishing in the right area for Jacks. All I can suggest is keep working those areas and concentrate on the obvious spots ie. rock walls, bridges, snags, etc. All the guys who catch their share of Jacks spend plenty of time on the water - and that is the only way to really find them. Also, fish outside of gentlemen's hours!

If you hook up with people from this site to go fishing on a regular basis you may then find they will be more willing to share a few spots - and of course if you share they may too!
