Talking New Rubber for the Nissan :)

The Cooper ATR's have been on the feet of the Nissan for a while now and were more suited to running down the quarter mile than suburbia.

Read a bit about some tyres here and there and in the end went for Maxxis 751's. Reason being they are a road tyre and I have a set of ' offroad ' wheels and tyres to go playing with, so no use wrecking $250 tyres.

So now the Nissan looks the goods with the 31 x 10.5 x 15's supporting her.

The price was right as well. Thanks to John Parker at Goodyear Springwood for the ' instant ' fitment and great balance and wheel alignment.

I'll report on the handling later....... need a wet day

    Cheers Phill

ps. I had an engine bay and underbody clean as well....

Must be a bit of a run on them phill, I got a set of the same size about a month ago - will keep an eye out for what you think of them. I've been pleasantly surprised so far for a cheap tyre.

Ditto here, about 6 weeks ago, went all right on Fraser for a week.
A bit of whiney road noise over about 80 ks, but not bad.
Anyone do any better than $149 fitted?

    Bob Jane Taringa, Damo.
I must admit there was a special on but I found others were willing to match that, so tyres must be like white goods where you can go in and make an offer.
Go into any Bob Jane and say a mate got them here a few weeks ago for $149 and I want them for that. They can only say no.

I phoned them first ( bob jane, Taringa ) and they wanted 238 each... ???? This was 3 days ago.

Got mine for a tad under 180 each fitted and balanced. And a 4 x 4 alignment for $50.

    Phil

I fitted the Maxxis 751's to Challenger. Very happy with the performance and the handling. I got mine fitted at Bob Jane for around $180 a couple of months back. Have done 7500 kms with them and souldn't be happier. Bob Janes also did the 5000km service and wheel alignment and no adjustment required.

I haven't had them off the black stuff yet, but soon to be.

$238 ?? get Coopers for that?
Are we talking about the same bloody tyres? They must have made some sort of mistake.
Maxxis 31 by 10.5 to go on a 15inch rim? All terrain type tyre with Bravo written on the side.

    You're not wrong FNQ.

I tried through the fleet manager of an airport corporation in Brisbane and his best price was $128.00 plus GST - supply only. I thought that was O.K. til I found the above price with someone else fitting them while I watched t.v. through a normal retail tyre outlet.
