Hi Ausfishers
I had to replace my winch cable ..... & with the requirement that the spectra rope be wound under tension ......... down to the local boat ramp I went!
So ..... with an hour or so of light left ...... I decided to have a little bit of a cast first > Now with the last of the run out tide..... I decided to mooch around the perimeter of the airport
......... Ahhhh the smell of aviation fuel Attachment 33291 Things were pretty quiets till I relocated to the mouth of the Cooks river ! Now I'm not really a big fan of fishing bridge pylons ...... but hey , they are always worth a cast. ........ & worthwhile it was ..Attachment 33294. A couple of 30cm bream , then a shredded leader on one that got straight back to the oyster covered pylons!
With the tide just about stopped .......... I slowed my retrieves down on the lobby (Grenade) .... to virtually a dead stick ....... I notice a little movement in the line & a quick strike sees me connected to a little speedster ...... line is ripped off the certate ....... with the fish going between the pylons ( under a oyster covered lip in the foundations) ......... I quickly thrust the rod into the water & pull hard!!!! Out it pops ....... a nice little silver trevally! ... Not a fish that wanted to give up easily ..... it ran me around the motor leg & then the leccy before it was netted ..... Attachment 33293 That was fun!
With the aroma of burning rubber ( plane landings) wafting through the area ..... another 2 bream & 1 more blurter were landed !
Satisfied with that short session...... it was back to the ramp to change the cable!
Yes ..... The Lobby did the trick again ( no Wasabi ) Grenade proved itself a fish taker .......... Love these Lobby's
Cheers All
