what is the best bait n rig for giant herring? think I saw a few when I fish at night. Thanks

A live prawn is the best i know of. Swim it out unweighted on a single light guage hook and you will score if there are any elops australis around.

I was catching them on a 1/16th Jighead loaded with a 4" nuke chook last year.

Small poppers are go ok to, where are you targeting them?

small white clousers,
they hit a fly 10 times more than any lure as i found out last summer

I think I saw few of them lurking below and occasionally smash school of small fish around the pontoon where I fish down at GC
