    Brissy river tuna

Fished the river today. This time going for a thready. After an hour or so of that for zippo headed closer to the mouth to have a look. To my surprise there were mac tuna feeding hard on the surface. Picked up what is usually my whiting, bream rod(6lb) and flicked a plastic into the melee. BANG and the 6lb was leaving the spool at a rapid rate. Halfway through the fight (about 20mins) i noticed the screw holding my bail roller had almost unscrewed itself. Got a screwdriver and when the tuna stopped running tightened it back in. Back into him and another 20 mins later a maccy 7.1kgs was finally tired enough for the net. Another great sessiom on the brissy. Ben

Awesome work on the light gear mate - Mac T's go hard!!

7.1Kg's on 6lb string, with mid-fight reel maintenance is a great effort!!

Top work Blooey, those macs sure go pretty hard on light gear. We hooked a couple a few months back on placcys and small chrome slices.

Did think about heading out for a while tosarv but decided to do some much needed R&M to the hornet. In hindsight probably would not have been a bad option due to the wind dying right off.

Pitty about the lack of Threaddy after you effort last week, better luck with him next time.

    Cheers,

    Bruce
