night plastics??

i think any plastic moved around in the water whether it is a straight tail or paddle etc make vibration.

I agree, but a profile with a more aggressive action creates a stronger and more resonant vibration which is ultimately going to travel greater distances and attract fish from further away.

At times, like when fish are spooked easily, this is probably not such a good thing, but when they are hunting and actively seeking out prey it can only be good.

i have more luck on hb's at night. i seen to have a lot harder time with placys at night.

Plastics are plastics, where ever you are, i'd imagine you'd have your own variations of pretty much the same thing.

Thanks for the link , we call them shads, rubbers, or jellies over here, would you term a Rapala deep diving hard lure or surface popper a plastic?

Anyone using these with a jig head, they are great when used for drift fishing over a wreck or reef

I am definitely sold on the 7" Berkeley Gulp, Jerk Shad in Nuclear chicken, Satay Chicken and Curried Chicken. Most times the rod goes off while in the holder.

Nukes are referred to quite a lot in capture posts.

when u say rod goes off in the holder do u mean u drift and just set one out the back u dont actively fish it??? bit gay but im sold on the chooks at the moment...

What type of fish are you after, and what type of structure are you fishing?

I use lighter natural colors at night like white , glitter or light pink, but thats cos Im chucking SPs at well lit jetties and bridge pylons, and i want the lights to pick up the SP color. If I was fishing a deep hole in the dark, Id use something that had a paddle tail action. I think glow/lumo colors suck and look too unnatural.

I prefer Atomic shads and prongs at night, and Gulp minnows in the daylight.

What we call 'plastics' are what the yanks call 'soft baits', generally made out of rubber or similar soft flexible materials.

All bibbed lures and surface poppers you are talking about we call hard bodies.

Those things you've pictured would have a pretty wild action. Who makes them? and what are they called?

I have tried various SP's at night for snapper, some work some don't.
the best by far is the new Glow Squidgy Flick Baits 145mm.
i have found on the real dark nights they are only getting hits as they are nearly glowed out(dull), on over cast days the work fine glowing bright & the twilight hours they work in between. some night snapper will take anything but when the fish are a little finnicky these work great.
