Hi all. my name is dave and this is my first post here in rod building. The bug seems to of hit me again to start building more rods i haven't done it for a number of years. I'm only a young bloke but was building rods back in the day when i was about 15 i think.
Now enough dribble, What i was wondering is if anyone has had any experience with the Pacific composites Braid buster or high mod graphite range of blanks. I'm piecing together a spin stick for casting for macks in the bay and the like.
Was thinking of maybe a
braid buster
BS 215 6-12,
7'
1piece
6-12kg
or
High mod. Graph.
Ultragraph 3000X 193cm 1 6-8kg
any help is greatly appreciated as i've been out of the loop for a while
Mate I've built on both series of blanks and for the Aussie style of fishing they are great value for money. The braid buster is exceptionally strong. They are a lot more "tippy" than the Ultragraph style. The ultragraph is a great value graphite blank and would suit your purpose. Just treat it with respect and don't be too rough with it.
