deep shallow tempest

HI wana try shallow and maybe deep tempest.Would it be quicker for me to leave from cleveland and go out past Noth Stradbroke or go out from Bribie island.And how far offshore roughly is Deep Tempes.

Best to leave from either spinnaker sound or bongaree, but from cleveland, that'll add a solid 2 hours to your trip return.

By memory, deep tempest is around 7-8NM ese of cape moreton, best to ask the seasond fisho's out there about that for clarification as it's been years since i've been out there

Yep, Dave that's about right. It takes me about 1.5 hours from Raby Bay. I don't have the GPS mark for either (downstairs in the boat, and I'm in my sexy jarmies).

Do a Google search on GPS marks Brisbane, should give you the marks you want.

As they guys have said, shallow and deep tempest are much closer to the top of Moreton than they are to South passage. I have attached a Google Earth snapshot to give you some idea of the locations and other marks in the general area.

Shallow Tempest is about 3 kms off Moreton, Deep is about 12 to 14 kms off.

Leave from scarborough, you can pretty much head straight to bulwer then round the top and out the front. on a good run to shallow a little over an hour (not flat out). no real savings going to bribie, just a longer drive by road.
