Data is not simply collected, chucked in a table and pasted on the net. Epa data would come from thesis and phd's and take several years to write.

I am aware that this information is not just chucked into a table and pasted onto the net Jeremy87. Taking that into consideration, and having been involved in the scientific world over many years, and within a government institution, I find that the data from 2003 still not published - even a brief paper or ten,? or a helpful media release - is less than ideal.

In order for the data to add meaning and be relevant to what is occurring today, I humbly suggest a little more haste be instilled for the sake of the creatures we want to protect. That said, the full report after it has worked it way through the layers of bureaucracy and peer review, is undoubtedly useful from an historic and other perspectives.

I believe the original poster sharkymark2 was attempting to catch up with the current 'headlines', "information re the 52 turtle deaths in Moreton Bay from boat strike and crab pot entanglement". It's pretty tough when he has to wait 5 years for something that doesn't relate directly to his queries. I read the post as trying to assist with problems happening NOW.

What have we got now is tiers of departmental management that have the power to ensure their own individual and personal unprofessional views ARE what govern the departments direction. We have the epa as preservationist puppets, now effectively run by the rabid ultragreen groups/organisations mentioned on this forum often.

The rot/corruption has set in at a all levels, if you would like to keep your job or advancement or be included on the next spun up idealogicaly driven with ideological terms of reference and wad of funding, do not promote a balanced view, tow the line or find another career. The rot is set from the very top down.

In true Yes Minister fashion although grossly unfunny, to suit their personally driven adjenda it's not the best course of action to release any information in real time until their (off the record) partner green groups have had time to spin up public paranoia with dogma, unofficially on the departments behalf with their tandem ideological aim.

When the departments ideologcal aim has been legislated under this fraud, Government and radical greens now together in chant over the outcome, but with the radicals to distance themselves as an entity yelling for more still to be done.

Now the collusion needed to achieve the legislation doesn't matter because the false perception of a rampant problem has already been created in the public and media's mind. All informed and responsible voices have been silenced by design and can now be crushed with further silence or spun unjustifiable and corrupt press release responses without fear of the colluded aim ever being compromised(aka every single GNS lockout zone, GBRMPA, soon the MB green zones too).

To my mind there has not been a single consevation based lockout or denial of free choice/basic rights inflicted upon the general public that did not follow this entrenched and corrupt standard plan to the letter.

If they are not releasing the information in an ongoing fashion it IS by design and it is to fit their end ideology and it is corrupt and colluded in the extreme.
No way no how would it have been possible for them to introduce the extremist and rabid preservationist ideology into legislation and pending without playing everyone except their alliances for fools.

It works very well I might add, a valid complaint over religion....who you gunna send the letter to....the Pope???? fisheries, epa, GBRMPA etc more are all nothing more than unofficial branches of the green extremists today, sadly with the power and lack of any need to comply with what's reasonable, because they have now have a legislated umbrella called the "precautonary principle" which is a blank check to do whatever they choose without recours. justification or responibilty - ever!.
