garmin 420

went offshore today chasing a few snapper
turned on the plotter and low and behold all info stored was gone

over 250 gps marks gonesky....
im still in shock after wandering aimlessly around searching for good ground....
anybody else hav this happen????????

It does happen i have heard of it happing with a older garmin models apparently something to do with a faulty/flat lithium battery that stores the marks in the unit. Since hearing this i have taken the precaution of backing up my marks on my computer using a program called garmin map source. It a great Little program and will save me the heart ache is something like this was to ever happen. It also makes my marks easily transferable to a new/or portable gps. Worth looking into
