Re: BEN HUR : MONDURAN & AWOONGA in September

    Heres todays report!!

Foxie and I hit the water about 11:13 am screamed up to some new areas. found some likely water.....no fish. found a bay that had about 20 fish in it all spooky and cruising around...I hooked one with a slickrig as it swam past the boat. It peeled a bit of drag with the hook in its back, not realising what was happening. It had no idea the hook was in its side!!!...when I put a bit of weight on it all hell broke loose....goooone. did that again once...silly idea. We moved back down towards C area and spooked another bay full of fish...on actually had a swipe at a lure..missed. In a nutshell, we would have got more fish if we had a spear. We could have landed several fish with the landing net alone. I am not sure whether they were sick or just relaxing in the lovely sun. All I know the dam has heaps of fish all over the place!!...bring on spring proper!!! Water temps were from 20deg to 22 deg. Should have caught heaps, but didnt... Strange day fishing wise. Spoke to Deb Grell (wife of the great Eric) they also struggled, but saw equally as many fish cruising. So dint be dismayed by this, things will get better in a few weeks!!

OOOOhhh its going to be a great weekend!!

    cheers steve

Kelly & Rob provide free internet. It is just a matter of organising it with them when you arrive.
I've also been able to secure a copy of a video of a certain ausfisher on his first trip to Tinaroo. Apparently it is worth a look. The first screening will be Friday at 9.00pm.
