    Sorry guys
Today we had to do something that isnt easy, let go a companion that has been with Debs and I for a long long time.
We dont have kids, we have each other and our animals.
Chloe was blind from the diabetes, and the kidneys were going, and we made the tuffest call, to say goodbye.
Like all pets, all she had was the implicit trust that we would look after her and do the right thing.
Today was a great day, glass out on the water, no breeze, sun to warm her up, a day where we could control how it would end, rather than a bad finish to a life we have shared, and a trust we have earned. We did what had to be done on the deck, she couldnt see, but she was with us, and trusted us.
Look after what you have, treasure what you receive, repay the loyalty with care and love.

My thoughts are with you and Deb. One of the toughest thing in life is to say goodbye to a member of your family. I had to do the same thing some years ago. We got our faithful hound just before the kids were born and they all grew up together. But at 15 years old with cataracts in both eyes, total deafness and athritis in both hips and 1 shoulder, I just couldn't put her through another winter. Thanks for sharing. You have reminded me of some good times.

Nothing wrong about being a sook when you lose a loved one - man or beast.

If I was nearby I'd give you a big man hug, shed a tear & then share a drink. After five minutes I would tell you to HTFU and deny everything!

Circle of life, Brian. Mostly good but sometimes very hard....

Of course you were a bit sooky Lil Bro.....It's a hard thing to do to say Goodbye to a Loyal Mate a friend and more importantly a member of the Family......Big Ugly Me had to get the Wife to deal with my Rottie (Max) when we lost him......I balled like a baby.....it was just too much......I know and feel your pain Brother......The last line in your original post summed it up beautifully.....we'll have a Toast to Chloe Sooooon.....Whitto
