Also keep an eye out for roos between Moree and Dalby in the early morning- we have had a good drop of rain today so they will be feeding on the side of the road over the next few weeks.

    Thanks Mick

We actually noticed that in our trip last Oct ........ silly me said lets fill up at Goondi (planned stop) ....... OOOOOPPPs +10 cent per lt
I think that Shell is open 24hours ....... stopped there on our first trip 4 years ago

    but thanks for the reminder

Yeh ..... The Roos ( the other Roo ) It is a problem traveling that time of the morning ........ I'll make sure Whitey stays awake

when your doing big k's every dollar saved is a bonus I recon. when I filled up at Bogga two weeks ago I paid $1.649 - 6c/L with a docket, a saving of 21c a litre from home which is only 100k's away (Moree)

BTW how do you find your SBR813 for barra? I picked up a SBR812 GLX recently and am thinking of using it with my steez at Awoonga this summer- I think its got the guts for weedbed work & 30lb braid.

    Hi Mick

Imagine my savings ....... The Prado has a 180 lt tank

The 813 is a nice little rod ..... perrrrfect for trowing slick rigs & smaller barra lures ........ matched with the steez it is just such a light outfit - but has the guts to control fish........... i really like the feel action you get out of a glass graphite blend
SBR812 GLX ...... Is this a new release ? Hey GLX rods ...... love the power in those things

    Chris,

    180 X .21= 1 carton of beer, 2 or 3 lures...

Loomis released the 812 & 813 in GLX this year, along with a couple of GLX crankbaits as well. I would like to see the crankers as the blended models have such a moderate action & you wouldnt think that could be replicated in GLX.

Re: BEN HUR : MONDURAN (Mondy Muster) & AWOONGA in September

Boy oh boy....you've all been busy over the weekend!!!
We'll I have the S10 in my possession now and It is a noice bit of kit. Love the way the cork grips feel like they are moulded as a part of your hand.
so the gear for the trip will be:
    Pflueger Medalist-CA63XH & Zillion, 50lb Tuffline and 60lb 10X leader (Roo)
Pflueger Medalist-CA510H & Revo Premier, 30lb Whiplash and 60lb 10X leader (The missus)
Pflueger Trion-CA4770M & Pflueger Echelon, 20lb Platil Millennium, 60lb 10X leader (Smaller hardbodies on open points)
Pflueger President-SP701M & Certate 2500R, 30lb Whiplash, 60lb 10X leader (The missus rod for Plastics on weed beds)
    Egrell S10 & Certate 3500HD, 30lb Whiplash, 60lb 10X leader (Roo's weapon for Plastics on weed beds)

That should do us!! I Have about 270yds of 50lb Tuffline for backup if the 30lb Whiplash wont cut it and have 80lb Suffix Braid Buddy if we find ourselves getting stitched up in the sticks or on deep hooked plastics. Also have 20 and 40lb 10X in the bag for making up twisted leaders or going light in wide open areas. I saw a pic in the latest QFM mag of a bloke that landed a metery in the sticks on 4lb main and 12 or 14lb leader to a jackall chubby....I bet he was working hard for that!!! new lures!!!who me? I was very controlled when we happened to be wandering off the motorway and into our favourite tackle junky treatment centre. only left with a pack of 130mm slick rig tails and a pack of Nitro 1/4oz 5/0's to slide up them. fit like a glove and lets the slicky dwadle up near the top on a slow roll...then waft seductively on the drop. Also saw a Giant Flaps in the orphan lure bin at the counter.....but i resisted that temptation. It had 2 trebles hanging out of it, must have been the 200mm model.

    Cheers Roo.
