Pete previously the lure collection went to the best of the worst. i.e. who ever had the 'best' hard luck story for the trip. "The Mikhoo" as the poor bassard won the collection but donated it because in the end he could not make it. No one has heard of him since but the tradition is retained in his name .

In light of this years increased patronage I suggest those who wish to make the weekend more interesting contribute a Barra lure and the pool be divided to provide a number of packages. "The Mikhoo" Best barra? Best ???? for the weekend.


There is a Perpetual Trophy of course and Tony Mondy is not looking forward to handing that over. .

Note the 'C' tition word is taboo!

# This is a social gathering of like minded fishers to fish, camp exchange ideas, and enjoy the time together.
# All are responsible for their own arrangements and accountable for their own actions.

We have a social committee and an MC for convenience only. If we had a Constitution this would be it and the KISS principal is paramount.

Now as we have such a good roll up ..... I was thinking of the following

50% of the lures will form the Mikooh Prize ( Bad luck in and around the muster trip) The nominations will be voted on by the attendees

Then I am thinking

25% will be a random door prize on Sat night

25% will be a random draw for those that did not catch a fish on the Saturday




I really dont want to see a prize associated with the Muster trophy

What does everyone think ?

And as stated you can only win one of the three draws.

Depending on the numbers, maybe even a 4 way split and a pack for the best pic? I hear Roo has a beuty :tongue:.

Or the forth quarter be divvied up for random awards as they come to light.

Can I suggest a display table of owner modified lures as an educational experience and talking point :cool:.

Finish ....... lets say be at the campsite by 8pm .... ( that way , we can fish the sunset bite ....... or be back early & on the turps .........I think most will be in by 7pm anyway.

9pm the draw & annointing of the Muster Master ( & the prying it out of Tony's hands ...... hopefully )

I think breaking up what could be 30-40 lures would be good

The door prize .... well there is a chance of making the trip extra special

The draw for those that didn't catch anything ....... can make the day worthwhile

& the Mikooh - well someone always seems to have a crap trip with breakdowns , lost rods , broken rods ...... or wildlife - broken trailers - So its a little compensation

Yep I will bring a copy of the muster Saturday rule! basically it starts 12midnight of the friday and all pics will be veiwed and winner anounced at 8pm on the Saturday night, the only other rule is who ever wins it take it for the year and has thier name put on it...

Its not a comp just a reward for catching the biggest fish for the day...

The biggest fish to date was TonyM's fish of the first muster and it was 112cm, on a SP shadlisous I will keep all the details of the captures and fish lenghts of the day if thats ok with all, will be nice to have a record of the day!

Talking about putting lures in tree's that are upright i am sue i can get that prize as pete 62 can atest i still have one 14foot up a tree at borumba so i could be in the hunt for best lure up a tree prize if nothing else
A suggestion from a no body how about we all contribute to a camp oven cook up on muster night weather it be bringing plates knives forks salads roast or other vegies have we enough camp ovens to do this would make the night worth while and the people that come in a bit earlier can get it started and the late arrivals finish the cooking as most of us are going to be there friday we can organize it then as to who will be in early and we can all put up beforehand what we will contribute

Nath, after watching you dust me up wth that shallow diving viper on that point last summer, how can I say no to the viper.

Personaly, I hate em with an un-natural passion, but strangely enuf, theres been more than a couple of good fish hit the deck of the quinny on vipers cast by crew.
