Rob ..... Some big fish get trolled up in the main basin every year - When I was there for the ABT last year .... there were several mid to high 120s that we heard of ......... though I do have my doubts with some of the guestimates made by some of those nomads

impoundments for seven years now, i have never had a fish do to me what that

big bitch did to me

Absolutely bloody amazing, i was worked over, swallowed up, spewed out and

run over, so powerfull and so fast, never before has this happened to me

At least once a week i dream of that event, it usally ends up with me being taken

off the deck, a massive jump, with an airbourne boof by a mamoth barra,

swallowed and ending up in a big container half full of boney bream

three foot long, black ducks and pelican's.

Yes--Yes--Yes, i am suffering from that encounter, but i am going back to find that

big bitch, she stole one of my Hollowbellies and backbone jigs

She will be on my brag mat sooner than later, I hope.

Mondy muster i like the sounds of that could someone tell me wat its all about.I been going to monduran 4 a few years now,love the place,also been reading about the fishin u guys talk about. great info has helped my fishin a great deal but still struggle to get any good quantity of barra I do trips for week and catch 1 or 2 fish a few catties as well. I'm a new member and would be honoured to meet the likes whitto nagg foxie etc. We will be on the houseboat sept 11 12th if anyone going past pop in and ave a beer. CHEERS ROBBO

Hey Robbo we will all be going past that weekend mate that is the muster weekend so i can now see the house boat being a pitstop for a few to stop and have a chat ,for info just go back about a 1000 posts or so maybe type muster dates in the search that might help bring up any info

Meeting them blokes will be dangerous, not an honour ....dont let them all on your houseboat at the same time, or at least not near your esky!!

I dare say most blokes will now drop in to the houseboat for a beer, In return they will now doubt steer you in the right direction to get a few fish. As you know, it can be a tough dam, but I have a gut feeling this spring will be different. Winter has been similar (so far) to winter 3 years back, we had bugger all fish kills and the spring fired up nicely...this year has the same hallmarks. I haven't seen a fish dead yet (touch wood ) I dare say there will be more info floating around between now and then, so feel free to jump in an have a chat.

Geez I hope you're right Steve......imagine the muster combined with a hot bite period! I've only experienced two hot bite periods in a dozen or so trips to Lake Misery and man, they are exciting!

No dead fish yet? That does bode well.......last year we saw about a dozen or so extra large dead big girls floating in different parts of the system.

All we need now is a period of stable and warmer weather...fingers (and toes) crossed!

Yeah Pete, your right that would be great. This time last year there were plenty of dead fish getting around....SO far I havent seen any, and no one is reporting any...its all a good sign...on the down side, I doubt we have had our last cold snap...theres usually one early august just to break our spirit . From all reports, Awoonga has faired well this winter too, so it has the potential to be really going off in September. It would be good to see that as it is such a terrific place when it fires. Better than Monduran IMHO. The numbers are there, and less fisherman too going on previous years, as Monduran seemed to be the 'hotspot'. Who knows?? but for sure, if we survive winter, the prospects for both dams is looking up.

Ditto to what the guys have said....although you have to watch that Foxie fella...he'll drink all your beer Nagg....well all I can say is that you are in deep trouble if the houseboat is made of wood....Nagg and fire are like Adam and Eve Whitto.....well the silverback is a Mondy enigma.......seriously all terrific fellas as goes for the rest of the group........we may just take you up on your offer of popping in for a quick beer BYO of course otherwise your fridge will be gutted with this mob.

honestly this mob are a great mix of people and a well worht getting to know not only do they know how to catch the odd fish but can have a great laugh with them all welcome aboard new comers just remebr its all good fun it not a serious thing this event just a few like minded people getting to gether and try to let the life stresses flow away oh yeah if you have a little generator a few are bring there so a extra one here and there wouldnt go a stray
